Due to a server migration issue on the back end on the part of the webhost, Gigapros, Words & Unwords has been offline for the past couple of days. Upon return, I realized that a whole bunch of entries are missing -- from late February 2012 and onwards. Regardless, the intelligent humor continues and will be updated as soon as is practically possible. In the mean time, there is good reason as to why I know that I'll be sleep deprived in the days to come.

Upon learning that there was actually a Webcomics Con convention, I knew that I had to get a Words & Unwords ad for the convention guidebook. True: The resolution is not great, but passable.

International Customers -- Where To Shop?

Still taking a break -- although it's not really that much of a break. The question that I get from international customers at times is as follows: Where do I shop for Words & Unwords products?

The answer, of course, is: it depends. The way that Zazzle works is that if international customers shop on the Zazzle.com (US domain), then they must be responsible for customs charges. A plus, however, is that if international customers shop on Zazzle.com, then they can take advantage of coupons and promotions that apply to Zazzle.com. All printing and shipping of merchandise, as far as I know, is done in the United States, so time-wise, there shouldn't be a difference in the processing and the shipping of the items when one orders from Zazzle.com or a Zazzle International domain. If the international customer shops on any of the Zazzle International domains, then customs charges are included in the price. Because of this fact, shipping charges are almost always higher when shopping via a Zazzle International domain than via the US-based Zazzle.com website. Add the foreign currency fluctuations in the exchange rate and fewer promotions on the International websites -- and it may be pricier to purchase on the Zazzle International website than from the Zazzle.com website.

With apologies to international customers, but there's a lot to think about when think about where to shop for Words & Unwords items if you are shipping to an international address.

It's been a year, and I'm taking a break for the next several weeks. I realize that I've fallen behind in building a simple website for both Words & Unwords, as well as Unfinished Polis. I'll be doing some stuff behind the scenes and will leave everyone to enjoy the Words & Unwords blog as it is.
